She attended the Walnut Hill School of Performing Arts Preparatory College as a Dance Major and Voice Minor in Boston, Massachusetts in 1986/87. Graduated from the Gifted & Talented Program as a Dance Major from Governor Thomas Johnson High School in Frederick, Maryland. She was a Dance Major at Shenandoah University for four years and performed with their Dance Ensemble. While at Shenandoah, she received extensive training in
Ballet, with a concentration in Vogonava and Cecchetti Methods, Modern Dance, with a concentration in the Graham and Limon techniques, Jazz, Tap, and Choreography. She has studied in D.C., Pittsburgh, New York, and Chicago with well-known artists and choreographers such as John Goding;
Washington Ballet, Frank Hatchett; Broadway Dance Center,
Sam Fiorello, Hank Crabtree; Dance Makers, and Gus Giordano; Chicago. She has also participated in several dance workshops such as Philobolus, a modern dance company and Jeffrey Amsden; a jazz choreographer. Tari Jo has directed and choreographed the last Twenty Seven Spring Dance Recitals alongside of her other instructors and is looking forward to the 28th/29th in 2021!
Tari Jo resides with her husband Todd Butler and is a member of the First Baptist Church Family of Martinsburg and enjoys singing with the Worship Team. She has had the opportunity to record in Nashville, TN with many well-known people in the music industry. Life is good!

She has had the opportunity to study with the Atlanta Ballet and Atlanta Jazz Theatre as well as other well known artists such as Ron Colton-Augusta Ballet, GA; Jonathon Hollander-Battery Dance Company, NY; John Goding-Washington Ballet, DC; Frank Hatchett-Broadway Dance Center, NY; Gennadi and Susan Vostrikov, Winchester, VA; Gus Giordano – Chicago, IL. Conferences include JUMP, West Coast Dance Explosion, Dance Olympus, Dance Makers, Inc, Eastern Dance Association and Universal Dance Association.
Her choreography of theater productions includes “Anything Goes,” “Music Man,” “Bye Bye Birdie,” “Jerry’s Girls,” “Leader of the Pack,” “Carnival,” “Lil’ Abner,” and “Oklahoma.” Chris has been an Instructor/Choreographer at Stagedoor Manor Performing Arts Training Center in Loch Sheldrake, New York, Drill/Dance Team Director/Instructor/Choreographer and show choir choreographer at John Handley High School, a Tap and Ballet instructor at Shenandoah University and Drill Team instructor at Daniel Morgan Middle School, all located in Winchester, VA. Her choreography has received numerous awards and has been showcased at Universal Dance Association, Eastern Dance Association, All-American Music Festivals, Dance Olympus, Dance Makers, Inc, Fiesta-val, Apple Blossom Festival, Co Dance and Radix. In 2007, she was awarded the Presidential Citation for Outstanding Educator by the summer residential Governor’s School for Humanities and Visual & Performing Arts at the University of Richmond in Richmond, VA. Many of her students have joined professional ballet and contemporary dance companies as well as various Broadway and National Tours. She resides in Winchester, VA is an Administrative Assistant/Treasurer at John Kerr Elementary School, Winchester, VA and continues as instructor/choreographer for the Vostrikov’s Academy of Ballet/Virginia Youth Ballet, Winchester, VA.

Entering Shenandoah University in 2008, Raegin had the opportunity to train with, and perform works created by, faculty members Alan Arnett, Ting-Yu Chen, Maurice Fraga, Kim Gibilisco, Elijah Gibson, Erica Helm and Linda Miller. She has taken master classes with dancers and choreographers from many professional companies, including Jon Lehrer (LehrerDance), Lauri Stallings (gloATL), Dylan G-Bowley (Trey McIntyre Project), Todd Stone (Trisha Brown Dance Company), Jason Garcia Ignacio (Company E), Jennifer Muller (The Works), Adriane Fang (Doug Varone, dancer), and Broadway choreographer Josh Bergasse.
In 2010, Raegin was invited to dance in the movie Friend With Benefits,She performed in the 2011 premiere of Maurice Fraga’s rrrojo, created for Fraga’s Ekilibre Dance Company, at the Merce Cunningham Studio in New York City. That year, she had the opportunity to collaborate with, and perform for, Rubbermaid Commercial Products as one of the HYGEN Dancers, at a major national convention in Las Vegas, NV.
Raegin’s love for teaching started in college when she traveled to assist with her dance professors at conventions and master classes. She enjoys sharing her passion for dance through teaching and choreography. Her recent choreography achievements include “Madness” winning 3rd Overall and “Love Story” winning 2nd Overall at the Kings Dominion Dance Festival in April of 2018.
